lead us not into temptation
this line leads many to question
its language and source..
bad translation say some
others find logic strained..
our separate self rises (ego)
as a fragment in consciousness..
a fragment when misunderstood
expands and insists..evermore..
that separate self believes
its suffering episodes
come from elsewhere..
why not in separate divinity..?
So..lead us not..is the prayer
of our ego enlarged
searching for suffering's end
in a far place hopefully found...
(perhaps this line is a concession to
those who believe in the reality of
separation.. as does western culture..)
