innuendo

by charles coon
each of life's moments
are formed by shadow
and light..
rare moments of light connect
lingering shadows of habit..

a claimed experience of
light draws
objection and challenge..
challenger not aware
light is linked
with secluded shadow..
there keys are found
unexpectedly
opening doors to
experienced light..

humanity streams from
a hidden source..
experienced only with
keys connecting darkly..
awakening to
the unmentioned
..innuendo..

(this poem inspired by
the first paragraph of Emerson's
Over-Soul)
