Democracy

Is the Recognition

Of the Equality of what seems separate..

Until that Recognition

The struggle ensues..but there are

Voices exceeding other voices:

Sounds of brutal historical suffering

Identifying the suffering we all hold..

Equality in suffering..and perhaps

Recognition of the Equality of

Democracy...

So we are raised to think about 1776 as the beginning of our democracy, but when that ship arrives on the horizon at Point Comfort in 1619, that decision made by the colonists to purchase that group of 20 to 30 human beings, that was a beginning too. And it would actually be those very people who were denied citizenship in their own country, who were denied the protections of our founding documents, who would fight the hardest and most successfully to make those ideals real, not just for themselves but for all Americans. It is black people who have been the perfectors of this democracy.

Relationships..

Relationships..

SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS

-John McIntosh

The mind will tell you that there is a ‘special one’ out there and you just need to … ‘find them’ and ‘be ready’ or ‘be open’ or a thousand other sage-sounding phrases to assure you that you are not alone. This is a very warm and cozy hope-filled sentiment to sooth those who feel ‘incomplete’ … and that is ‘everyone’ who is NOT Truly Free. Some will seek it through power, fame, acquisition, wealth and the attempt ‘to build a wall around themselves that nothing can penetrate’ as one famous motivational speaker used to say. Relationships with that one special person are the most common of these ways to feel ‘Whole’.

All of these are part of the diversionary tactics of the mind designed to keep you ‘seeking but never finding’ the absolute ONE-ness you already ‘are’. Nothing that has a beginning and an ending is Real. Eternity ‘is’ Infinite without birth or death – ‘unborn’, and is never absent from Whole-ness, which is Who you Really are. Relationships of any kind, especially the very close ones such as in a marriage, are there to offer you a clear ‘mirror’ of who you are NOT … until you return to the full Awareness of the Freedom you Are.

The closer a relationship, the more it ‘triggers’ your conditioning [attachments, expectations and identifications] revealing what is ready to be transformed. These triggers return over and over again until you look beyond the stories and into the deep feelings that hold you prisoner to a personal identity, always built on limitation and separation. You ‘are’ complete now and have always been. Close and personal relationships are there to reveal what is blocking this Awareness not to bring something which the mind tells you is somehow ‘missing’.

If, after full Awareness of the God you are returns to you, you find yourself in a ‘close relationship’, which is more correctly referred to as UNICITY since you then KNOW [not believe] that you are ONE, they will ‘always’ mirror the Beauty and the Infinite Grandeur you are.

Appearances..

Standing in the grace

Of our Wholeness we

Note this simplicity:

Appearances are fleeting..

And perhaps more:

Appearances are everything..

We have returned Home...

The Searcher...(with Krishnamurti)

The Searcher..

Whether known or not:

When not in deep sleep..we

Are all on a search..we want

To find what we had..but Alas

Now is lost..we search as we

Dream our many dreams..

Until the discovery of our

Loss as the Dreamer of

Some character known as

The Searcher...

An excerpt from U. G. Krishnamurti’s book  'The Anti Guru'`~

U. G.:  You see, I maintain that - I don’t know, whatever you call this: I don’t like to use the words ‘enlightenment’. ‘freedom’, ‘maksha’, or liberation; all these words are loaded words, they have a connotation of their own – this cannot be brought about through any effort of yours; it just happens. And why it happens to one individual and not another, I don’t know.

Questioner: So, it happened to you?

U.G. It happened to me.

Q: When, sir?

U. G. In my forty-ninth year…But whatever you do in the direction of whatever you are after – the pursuit or search for truth or reality – takes you away from your own very natural state, in which you always are. It’s not something you can acquire, attain or accomplish as a result of your effort – that is why I use the word ‘acausal’. It has no cause, but somehow the search comes to an end.

Q: You think, Sir, that it is not the result of the search? I ask because I have heard that you studied philosophy, that you were associated with religious people…

U. G. : You see, the search takes you away from yourself – it is in the opposite direction – it has absolutely no relation.

Q: In spite of it, it has happened, not because of it?

U. G. : In spite of it, yes – that’s the word. All that you do makes it impossible for what is already there to express itself. That is why I call this ‘your natural state’. You’re always in that state. *What prevents what is there from expressing itself. in its own way, is the search.* The search is always in the wrong direction, so ALL that you consider very profound, ALL that you consider sacred, is a contamination in that consciousness. You may not (laughs) like the word ‘contamination’, but all that you consider sacred, holy, and profound is a contamination.

So, there is nothing that you can do. It’s not in your hands. I don’t like to use the word ‘grace’, because if you use the word ‘grace’ , the grace for whom?

If it were possible for me, I would give, to be able to help somebody. This is something which I can’t give, because you have it. Why should I give it to you? It is ridiculous to ask for a thing you already have.”

Silence

Silence

Is... nothing more

To be said as

We allow Silence

To speak and form

And to show us

Of the Silence

We are...

Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy Theories..

The assumption at the core

Is that of separation..

And fear of the unknown..

An unknown that towers

As a threat to our peace..

Good versus evil..and

Believers and non-believers..

Small crumbs of truth

Coincide and confirm..

Large proofs of denial

Paradoxically align..

The cure..?

Simply a Self-Inquiry

Of thoughts and perceptions

To allow: the Recognition of

Self as Truth...

Nothing is Happening..

Nothing is Happening..

This is a mystery

Until we Know

Nothing is also

Something..without

Seams..An appearance

Of nothing as something

Is our Dream and

Shadow of doubt..

Doubt

Thrives when the

Assumption of separation

Is live and well..

Belief and doubt

Are twins of deception..

One does not appear

Without the other..

So..how to proceed..?

Knowing these twins

Shade our Truth...

THE SHADOW OF DOUBT

-John McIntosh

The specter of doubt

Looms most close

When the Light is Brightest

When Freedom’s voice

Is finally heard

Clouds of doubt are darkest

The desperate clinging

Of the phantom self

Swells its last

When the Sun is near

Breathing Love

Doubt casts is longest shadow

Lydia in Purple

She was extraordinary

As a business woman

With an exploring bent to

Uncover her real Self..

Freedom..

Freedom..

Quickly..on Freedom

And it should be quick..

To glimpse right now

The Freedom you Are..

Unconditioned by those

Many stipulations you

Have heaped before..

Leave the heap

Without disturbance and

Allow the discovery:

Freedom Itself as You...

Neophyte

Neophyte

In our past years

Perhaps until now

We shied from being

The neophyte..the one

With a blank slate

Which a non-neophyte

Might shape and place

On a path of success..

But hopefully

This morning we find

We must  Recognize

Ourself as Neophyte

Now and always..if

We wish to fall into

Our Freedom...

Neophyte

NEE-É™-fahyt

Part of speech: noun

Origin: Greek, 14th century

1

A person who is new to a subject, skill, or belief.

2

A new convert to a religion.

Oneness. (with Tony Parsons)

ONEness

Living with the full

Recognition without compromise..

That is our purpose..

Compromise is conditioning

Appearing as

Our beliefs and assumptions

Which seem to claim our

Attention..cluttering the glimpse

Of the day before..we wait

Until clutter is recognized

As clutter...

Or liberation can happen, which is the realization that the seeker who wants to own that is also Oneness. And when that is realized, it is suddenly seen by no one that there is only Oneness, and then it’s all over.

~~Tony Parsons

Above is extracted from this:

Question: “So what you’re saying is that I can’t do anything, and that I have no responsibility?”

Tony: And I keep on repeating: no, I’m not saying you can’t do anything, because that would imply that there’s someone who can’t do anything.

But the reality is: there is no one. That is something totally different.

Lots of so-called Advaita people just hate this message. They keep coming back to the argument that what I’m saying promotes laziness, that it’s a terrible, awful thing to say. They don’t comprehend what’s basically, fundamentally being said, and that is that there is no choice, there is no free will. There is no one. They totally and utterly still believe in the reality of individual choice. For them to hear that there is no one….it’s impossible for them to hear that. So they’ll go on arguing in duality.

On the other hand: I know of people who have come once and seen it totally. Others come to the meetings a few times, and then the whole idea of individuality simply disappears. It falls apart.

Awakenings are happening all over the place at this time. And what people say is that when it happens, they realize that it’s absolutely natural and ordinary. No big deal, in a sense. In another way, it’s absolutely wonderful.

Comment: You make a distinction between awakening and liberation.

Tony: We become separate and take on the thought “I am a separate person” from a very early age. And at that moment of separation, seeking starts. We seek for that which we think we’ve lost. And so we grow up in a world where we’re taught to endeavor and make our lives work, and then it is possible that we begin to look for something other than being successful in the world, and enlightenment is one of the things that we go for.

Comment: Enlightenment being another way of being successful.

Tony: Right. And then we usually go to a teacher that teaches us that there’s still an individual with choice. Most teachings are like that. It’s very rare to find a teaching like this one, that is so radical. For me, the seeker is there, seeking, and then comes a moment when there is no seeker, there is no time, there is just Oneness. And that is not seen by the seeker, but is simply seen by no one. That, to me, is awakening. And forever after that there’s a totally different perception, but on a subtle level there’s still a person, there’s still a seeking going on, a wanting to know what has happened. The person comes back and wants to own what’s just happened. He doesn’t understand it. And so there’s a period of integration of what happened, and the person wants to own that. People can stay in that for the rest of their lives. Or liberation can happen, which is the realization that the seeker who wants to own that is also Oneness. And when that is realized, it is suddenly seen by no one that there is only Oneness, and then it’s all over.

In liberation there no longer is a sense of there being a separate individual. Liberation is the complete end of the sense of separation. But there’s still a body mind organism that has conditioned memories, and has responses and preferences. That’s aliveness. That goes on.

Comment: Emotions still keep popping up.

Tony: Oh absolutely. Anything can happen. Nothing is denied. The difference between the liberated one, or rather: liberation, and individuality is that when an emotion like anger arises, it just arises for no one, but all the time there’s an individual who thinks it’s his anger; that happening to him, that he owns it. In individuality there’s always an ownership of everything. In liberation there’s no one that owns the anger, but still the anger can arise, as it did before for no one. In individuality the so-called person keeps thinking it’s happening to him. In liberation it’s simply anger, happening to no one.

Comment: Isn’t there still a subtle duality present then, because on the one side there is ego-related anger, and on the other hand there’s something witnessing this.

Tony: Well, that’s how it feels, but in liberation there is no witness. That’s over. In awakening there can be a witness, and even before awakening there can be a witness, but in liberation there isn’t even something that is aware of manifestation. There is just being, whatever is.

Comment: And this is not comprehensible . . .

Tony: No, it’s a total mystery. And of course it goes against most teachings, which teach that in enlightenment there is no anger, there is no thinking.

This is ignorance. This is an idea of what perfection should look like. In liberation, nothing is denied.

Comment: Everything is perfect.

Tony: Everything is perfect, but it isn’t happening to anyone any longer.

Comment: When you’re a small child, there’s also no one to whom things happen.

Tony: No, just being.

Question: Do you think it’s a natural and unavoidable development that a child grows into this illusion of being an individual?

Tony: Yes, I absolutely do. Oneness wants to play the game of being an individual, looking for something called ‘not being an individual’. Oneness wants to play the game. Oneness is certainly fascinated by not being one"

Finding a corpse (with Gospel of Thomas)

Finding a corpse

On our many pathways

We look for the endpoint

Which defines..we think

A lifting endearment

In itself our worthy wish..

But no..satisfaction fades

To a new endpoint which

Seems the new real thing..

Until..the endpoint is

Recognized..yet one more

Corpse...

See Gospel of Thomas

(56) Jesus says:

“Whoever has come to know the world has found a corpse.

And whoever has found (this) corpse, of him the world is not worthy.”

Our primary assumption. (with Rupert Spira)

Our return

To our original Abundance

Unfettered by conditioning

Which we accumulate in

Schooling..which creates

The maskings of what is

Real..and simultaneously

Creates ups and downs

Which we assume are what

We must know and accept..

Meanwhile~~

Desperation tugs..begs for

Our return...

Our entire world culture is founded on a single belief, the belief that there is a substance that exists outside of consciousness, called ‘matter’. Matter is believed to be the fundamental reality of all existence, and consciousness is believed to derive somehow from this substance of matter. Whether we realise it or not, almost all our thoughts, feelings, activities and relationships are founded upon this primary assumption.

Strangely, the idea of matter was invented a few thousand years ago, and we have been looking for it ever since. Scientists are still looking for it – they haven’t found it! Many scientists believe that it’s just a matter of a few more years and a few more million dollars until we eventually find this stuff called matter. And philosophers have been thinking about the nature of matter and its relation to consciousness for over two thousand years.

Listening. (with Jean Klein)

Listening

Shapes but does not
Add or subtract from
Our Self..
Allowing the shaping
Is listening..which is lost
When expectation overrules...

First listen, and in the listening you will see that you don't listen.
In your listening there is expectation. You are listening with an-
ticipation. See that. It is a fact, without judging or comparison, it is
a fact. Seeing really the fact that you don't listen brings you to
listening and listening is the answer. Feel yourself in the answer.
To live freely in the answer you must give up what is not the
answer. But don't emphasize what you give up; emphasize the
giving-up, the up-giving, itself.
~~Jean Klein, Transmission of the Flame

Gospel of Thomas

(3) Jesus says:

(1) “If those who lead you say to you: ‘Look, the kingdom is in the sky!’ then the birds of the sky will precede you.
(2) If they say to you: ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fishes will precede you.
(3) Rather, the kingdom is inside of you and outside of you.”
(4) “When you come to know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will realize that you are the children of the living Father.
(5) But if you do not come to know yourselves, then you exist in poverty, and you are poverty.”
~~Gospel of Thomas

(56) Jesus says:

“Whoever has come to know the world has found a corpse.
And whoever has found (this) corpse, of him the world is not worthy.”

(77) Jesus says:

(1) “I am the light that is over all. I am the All. The All came forth out of me. And to me the All has come.”
(2) “Split a piece of wood — I am there.
(3) Lift the stone, and you will find me there.”

What is Systemic Racism..really?

What is Systemic Racism..
really..?

We know of progress
And we don't deny
Those relative comparisons..
The measurements distancing
The start point  of slavery..
But..we must hold a
Systemic lens to Recognize
That the patchwork of history
Has not reached the depth
Of Freedom for all..
This we can know only when we
Recognize the Truth of our
Own Freedom..which lies
In a discovered Silence.. to which
Words..patches and systemic
Can only point...

In which we have already
Arrived..to Be there Now...!

And grace..
He held a basket with a few

Abundance

Abundance

This name for
That which has
No dimensions..
That is..to know
Our Self is to know
Abundance..
Then comes Trust
For appearances of
What is needed now

Can we Trust...?

Christmas. (with Rupert Spira)

"The Most Precious Gift
‘I am’ is the first name of Christ. “Before Abraham was, I am”. Christmas is the remembrance and celebration of the I am that I am. Instead of stories of children, mangers and sheep, it is this I am that I am, that should be proclaimed from our churches. To know the peace that passeth understanding and the unconditional happiness that accompanies it, it is only necessary to know our own being – the I am that I am – as it is.
To indicate that is the most precious gift that anyone can impart or receive."
~ Rupert Spira

Surrendering

Surrendering

In the afternoon quiet
With the turtle dove and breeze
In simultaneous Being..
There comes a recognition
Of open Totality
And the experience of
Nothing to surrender...

Taking oneself too seriously may be a fairly good sign that there has not been the giving up, the surrendering, of the false idea that one actually exists. Doubts about the authenticity of certain teachers often boil down to this: that while they may have an excellent under- standing of the teachings, it is the complete surrender of the sense of individual self that has perhaps not occurred.
~~Perfect Brilliant Stillness

SELF

SELF

The word itself
Implies a limit..
When limit is applied
Freedom is lost..
And a search ensues
To find what was lost..
Many others are met
Billions perhaps
Also searching..
A tragedy until
A fortunate stumble
Reveals our SELF...
