Cognitive Dissonance
occurs
when that which is said
seems simultaneously
not to be understood
and a soft ring of truth..
The mind tasks itself
to discover the object
of meaning
but unease settles in
after some tiring probes..
What is history?
A question as this
and the mind cognizes
timelines with dates
stories beginning and end
but hints of fragmentation
loom with suspicions
of larger stories which
the mind cannot find..
Unease or dissonance
produces the longing
waiting for a recognition
of grace...
