The Virgin Birth
This astonishing claim finds resistance
for many in this Christmas season..
Rationality seems abandoned and yet
an intense wish only to believe
to somehow fall into a truth..
The verses and learned comments
do not seem to cooperate as translations
shout error and insert their findings
of a simple young woman..
So we try to find new paths for relief
and we ponder the simple word ponder..
She ponders how immersed seem her
pain and perplexity in a dawning
and welcoming grace...
