Telling it straight
Why not indeed tell it straight..
history and story and time seem straight
and so we expect that the telling should
also flow straight and sequential and all..
But then on occasion we find that
straight deceives and only but satisfies
our cultured impatience to know..
Liberating it is, but effort it demands
to hear stories which surprise and jolt
there is delay in displaying what we know
a telling the way life unfurls and is...
