Addiction is a lingering forgetfulness
from our true nature
we know that ego lies within
and becomes an actor
in presenting our world..but
appearances deceive and conspire
as the ego..as observer..observes
what appears as a squirrel
searching the lawn for nourishing bits..
as we forget our true nature
the squirrel appears outside
and an addiction threatens..
addiction is a lingering forgetfulness
forgetting that
our true nature lies elsewhere
to be found with remembering anew...
