The Panther

His vision, from the constantly passing bars,
has grown so weary that it cannot hold
anything else. It seems to him there are
a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.

As he paces in cramped circles, over and over,
the movement of his powerful soft strides
is like a ritual dance around a center
in which a mighty will stands paralyzed.

rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
plunges into the heart and is gone.

Do we live behind a thousand bars
those bars posing as illusion of a
separate world out there..upon which 
our small finite self paces and paces..
paces..and searches for the happiness
which..on occasion..quickly illumines
our ritual dance..but soon plunges
into our clouded vision..once more 
we are pacing behind passing bars...

suffering as stimulation

suffering as stimulation

it would seem
that the sufferer engaged in suffering
might process her suffering
through one of three gates..
gate 1: the sufferer becomes the suffering
and attempts to wiggle free..finding temporary
relief..or perhaps an unsought intensification..
gate 2: the sufferer enters into the pain..looks for
boundaries..finding none she notices that in which
the pain resides..and comes home..
gate 3:  the sufferer bypasses the suffering to
immediately arrive home..then returning to
the suffering..she saturates it with the infinite
peace of her home...

and we note..suffering stimulates a search
for any gate yielding relief and peace...

our culture seems to rely on gate 1..with ongoing
search for those other gates...

Exhale

of course..follows the inhale

but..if observed carefully

seems to represent a departure

from a transcendent inhale

and an experience of variation

inclusive of..everything..

this is the moment of creative

possibility..with the light

of the inhale illuminating the

ordinary..in shining paradox:

the inhale experienced as 

exhale...!

Transparency

Transparency

experience is the activity that

 clusters thought and perception

gaining the appearance of

a body separated

perceiving a separate world..

 that experience indeed

is the creation:

 the many appearances 

coloring our waking lives..

and it is good..even very good

the good book says..but..

how might we experience

this goodness..?

the appearances bring

both joys and sorrows

the seeming good and

the not so good..and

claim independence and

 full truth of being..

so we.. from our darkness

must experience the

transparency in which

all experience is  created..

a new recognition of our

 transparent identity 

is the experience

of goodness... 

night and day

night and day

 details of daytime

give way to pervading night

and knowing of vastness

claims our being..

closed eyes in daytime

brings night in bits

of respite and glimpses

of ourself as origin..

clouded only by thoughts

and sensations..but devoid

of deceiving division

in bright daylight..

the blink of an eye

quickly unveils 

our original self

then veils once more

as we bring forth

our new creation...

The Journey

what is The Journey..?

it is a perennial experience

in which we are observers

of that which moves 

from time to time and

from place to place..

it is the discovery of

a new identity as

 timeless and placeless..

new lenses present

  times and places

 as temporary colorings

as appearances

in The Journey of

 freedom and creation..

former journeys of

 sights and sounds are

dissolved in a

dawning recognition:

The Journey is always 
Here and Now...
