Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm

Sometimes we are told
enthusiasm the ego fires..
but in examining more carefully
one such enthusiasm
we might find its make-up
as a temporary oasis
in the luminous field
to which it seems
to point..
Yet indeed misuses seem thriving:
ego's opportunities do unfold..
But for now
the pointing just mentioned
seems so much more
appealing...!

Quantum Consciousness

Published on Jul 4, 2014
Fred Kuttner discusses his book Quantum Enigma -- Physics Encounters Consciousness, co-authored with Bruce Rosenblum. In trying to understand the atom, physicists built quantum mechanics, the most successful theory in science. But they found, to their embarrassment, that with their theory, physics encounters consciousness, a mysterious phenomenon that science cannot explain and cannot ignore. Attempts to interpret the meaning and implications of all this are often controversial. But every interpretation of quantum physics involves consciousness, and the connection of consciousness with the Universe suggested by some leading quantum cosmologists is mind-blowing. There exists a boundary beyond which the expertise of physicists is no longer the only sure guide.

In the few decades since experiments established the existence of quantum entanglement, interest in the foundations, and the mysteries, of quantum mechanics has accelerated. In recent years, physicists, philosophers, computer engineers, and even biologists have expanded our realization of the significance of quantum phenomena. Quantum theory tells us that an object can be in two places at the same time, that its existence becomes real only when observed, and that the observation of an object can instantaneously influence another distant object even if no physical force connects the two. Quantum theory thus denies the existence of a physically real world independent of its observation.

The seeker

The seeker will discover that he is what he seeks and that what he seeks is the source of the inquiry. ~ Jean Klein

Something to be done

Something to be done

The first step seems to be
escaping from the exile
which the something seems to be..
The exile is the feeling
that an impossible task looms and
I have been chosen so wrongly..
The exile remains until
some recognition of freedom
says that the exile is in me
and not me in the exile..
It seems we must allow the exile
whatever it is
and the thought that upholds
to simply be
and eventually melt
into a sea of freedom...

the black squirrel

the black squirrel

pranced and climbed..
and those gravely stones
bounding the yard..
oil drops on the pavement
spread and shaped
a reminder of how
fossils transport
and pollute..
all of these
perception and memory
are of consciousness made
with such wild and varied
colorations..
please add your own
from this your moment
to include
a poem entitled
the black squirrel...

Beginning in Silence

Beginning in Silence

Observing everything unfold
the world's colors and forms
the body's hidden sensations
all shining in the Silence
of beginning..
The cloud kangaroo
leaping and disappearing..
The chirping welcome of spring..
Memories and thoughts
arriving and departing..
All beginning and ending
in the Silence
which we are...

The particle

The particle

What he said..
Max Planck
that is..
seems as the
last stand of duality..

There is no matter as such.  All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this minute solar system together.
We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intellegent mind.  This mind is the matrix of all matter.

A force brings a particle
to vibration..
If the process were reversed
and the vibration brings
the seeming appearance of the particle
we have then escaped
into the realm of freedom...!
